Asian Style Sloppy Joes Burger

Eastbourne Hotties

These Asian Style Sloppy Joes Burgers combine American and Asian flavors in a tasty way. The umami flavor of soy sauce goes well with the savory and slightly sweet hoisin sauce, making a filling for sloppy joes that is rich and full of flavor. These burgers are a tasty take on a classic dish because they are topped with fresh cucumbers and red cabbage.

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 cup hoisin sauce
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon ginger, minced
  • 1/2 cup diced bell peppers any color
  • 1/2 cup diced onion
  • 1/4 cup sliced green onions
  • 4 hamburger buns
  • Sesame seeds for garnish
  • Sliced cucumbers for topping
  • Sliced red cabbage for topping

Instructions:

Toast the ground beef in a big pan over medium-high heat until its fully cooked and broken up

Chop up some garlic and ginger and add them to the pan

For one to two minutes, stir and cook until it smells good

Add the soy sauce and hoisin sauce and mix well

Let the flavors blend for another two to three minutes by continuing to cook

Dice the onions and bell peppers and put them in the pan

Cook the vegetables for three to four minutes, or until they start to get a little softer but are still crisp

In a toaster or on a griddle, toast the hamburger buns until they are just barely browned

To put the burgers together, cover the bottom half of each bun with a large scoop of the Asian-style sloppy joe mix

If you want it to taste even better, add sliced cucumbers and red cabbage on top

To make it look nicer, add sliced green onions and sesame seeds on top

Finish each burger by putting the top half of the bun on top of it

Give the Asian-style Sloppy Joes a try while theyre still hot
