The browned butter adds a nutty flavor while the dark chocolate provides pockets of intense chocolate goodness. Ingredients:

  • 1 cup 2 sticks unsalted butter
  • 1 1/4 cups granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup dark chocolate chunks or chips

Instructions:

Warm the oven up to 175F 350C

Put parchment paper around the edges of an 8x8-inch baking pan, leaving some overhang to make it easy to take off

Over medium heat, stir the butter around a lot in a small saucepan until it turns golden brown and smells good, about 5 to 7 minutes

Take it off the heat right away to keep it from burning

Put the browned butter, sugar, cocoa powder, and salt in a large bowl

Mix everything together well

One at a time, add the vanilla extract and eggs, making sure to mix well after each addition

After adding the flour and stirring it in just until its all mixed in, add the dark chocolate chunks

When the baking pan is ready, pour the batter in and spread it out evenly

After the oven is hot, bake it for 25 to 30 minutes, or until a toothpick stuck in the middle comes out with moist crumbs on it but no raw batter

Take it out of the oven and put a wire rack in the pan so it can cool all the way down

Once the brownies are cool, use the extra parchment paper to lift them out of the pan

Cut them into squares and serve
