Ingredients:
- 4 cups dried navy beans
- 1 onion, diced
- 1/2 cup molasses
- 1/3 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup Dijon mustard
- 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 pound bacon, chopped
- 4 cups water
Instructions:
After rinsing, soak the navy beans in water for the entire night
Preheat the oven to 250F 120C in the morning
After soaking, drain and rinse the beans
The beans, diced onion, molasses, brown sugar, Dijon mustard, apple cider vinegar, salt, and black pepper should all be combined in a large Dutch oven
Fill the pot with water and add the chopped bacon, making sure the beans are completely submerged
With the Dutch oven covered, bake for 12 hours in the preheated oven, stirring now and then
Verify the tenderness of the beans
Bake the beans for a further one to two hours, if necessary, until they are tender and tasty
Before serving, allow the beans to settle for a few minutes after cooking
Savor the flavorful, deep-roasted baked beans for 12 hours
