Ingredients:
- 1 sheet frozen puff pastry, thawed
- 3 ripe pears, peeled, cored, and thinly sliced
- 1/2 cup almond meal
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon almond extract
- 1 tablespoon apricot preserves
- Sliced almonds, for garnish
- Powdered sugar, for dusting
Instructions:
Preheat oven to 375F 190C
Roll out puff pastry into a rectangle and transfer to a parchment-lined baking sheet
In a bowl, combine almond meal, granulated sugar, butter, egg, vanilla extract, and almond extract
Mix until smooth
Spread almond cream mixture evenly over the puff pastry, leaving a small border around the edges
Arrange pear slices over the almond cream
Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the pastry is golden brown and the pears are tender
In a small saucepan, heat apricot preserves until melted
Brush over the warm tart
Sprinkle sliced almonds over the tart
Let cool slightly before serving
Dust with powdered sugar before serving, if desired
